Moosehead Marine Museum

The Moosehead Marine Museum is a non-profit corporation, dedicated to the preservation of the history and culture of transportation on Moosehead Lake.

The Museum owns and operates the steamboat Katahdin. The last survivor of the fleet on Moosehead, the Kathadin hauled her last log boom across Moosehead to the East Outlet in 1975. Scott Paper Company presented the Kathadin to the Moosehead Marine Museum in 1977. In 1985, after many years of devoted work by many, the Katahdin, Queen of the Fleet, once again sailed across the deep waters of Moosehead Lake.

Cruises normally start at the end of June and continue through the Columbus Day weekend. Check out our website: www.katahdincruises.com for rates and dates of operation. We offer three, five and eight hour cruises through the summer. The Museum reserves the right to cancel any cruise due to mechanical malfunction, severe weather, or safety issues. Please call ahead.
